Sculpting....Love at first squish!

After graduating from Ringling College of Art and Design, I spent nearly 30 years as an internationally published illustrator and gallery painter. While I enjoyed painting, the first time I felt my hands create a figure from a lump of earthy clay, it was love at first squish.

To me, every face is a story; the words are etched into its features. Every figure is a statement; whispered within a gesture or declared through a stance. People and their stories simply fascinate me. Through the position of their body, the attitude of a hand, the nuance of a glance, personality is expressed. In sculpting, I do more than capture the likeness of an individual. I tell their story.
