"A Good Read"

This is a tiny maquette that I started sculpting at the Wendy Woo concert at the Lagoon Series in Fort Collins, CO. My daughter is never without her beloved books and she ofen looses herself for hours, immersed in reading and absently fidling with her necklace.

As an only child, people may think she gets lonely. But in truth, with her imagination (she's a budding writer herself) and her treasured books, she's never really alone. She's quietly content.

"State of Grace"

This is a small maquette (clay sketch) of the second figure in a series of bronze sculptures of ascending women. This is simply a sketch in oil-based clay, as I wanted to work out the pose and attidude a bit and explore my vision before starting the final art.

This sketch was created using a 12" armature, however, with cloth and flowing hair she currrently measures 18".

I have now started the final of this image using my new 18" Truform armature. The final size for the bronze will be approximately 24" tall.

This maquette is currently being enlarged for the final clay sculpture and can be seen on my blog.
